Buells - XB9S Firebolt

Thinking of getting one of these as a winter run around - bein offered one at quite cheap price.

Anyone know if they're any good/prone to problems. Also - wot to look out for.

Cheers
Ruth

Re: Buells - XB9S Firebolt

Whey hey Ruth, I would like one of them. Winter fly around more than runaround - wheelies, stoppies, knee down, straight through a hedge etc. no problem. They look quite good value, apparently the 9 is more reliable than the 12. Some of them have probably been caned but you should be able to tell by mileage, owner and general appearance.

Go for it.

Re: Buells - XB9S Firebolt

Ruth,

I had the XB9s lightning for a while & loved it, although it was a bit tall for me, even with a scooped out seat on it

I've just bought the 1200 lightning model which is much lower than the others. Although I've already had a mishap where it fell over they are a great fun bike which can be ridden all year round. Still worth spraying it all over with ACF50 just to protect it from the winter elements though.

Just be careful if you do get one as they can be a bit of an animal

Blimey Wuth, you don't muck about when you go for a winter hack, do you.

I was thinking I'd spend under Ł1000 and hoping to get a fairing as well.

The only memory I've got of riding a Buell wasn't of dropping it (that was the V-Rod) but of the terrific amount of rectal suction I'd developed when I tried to get off it.

They are mad beast.
