Shocks

OK, i got me an XR1200 and from what i can gather the shocks are the same as a V-Rod....And i wanna change em. (damping is crap)
So has anyone used Hagon shocks on their V-Rod, cos i is thinking of getting some, the Progressive's are out of my price range.
Any advise/help is appreciated...fanks

Re: Shocks

Let us know what model XL you have and the present shock length?
Are you interested in longer or shorter shocks or keeping the same length?

Have you thought about fitting the air shocks off a Road King, sometimes available as a take off for upgrade on eBay?

Oh yes and your weight and if you carry a passenger and or luggage very often.

No problem - Don't expect me to go out of my way to assist you with that attitude. I thought at first you had an XL. Not expecting anyone to slag of a new bike like that without getting the dealers help first.

I aint slagging off the bike, (i am slagging off the shocks, its something that everybody who owns one has a problem with) i am just asking if anyone knows anything about Hagon shocks!!
I have been riding these things (HD's) for twenty odd years, dont you think i realized that HD dealers were a waste of space a long time ago. Duh!
In case you dont know, there are lots of people who are in different weight categories than others, and the same shocks dont work for everybody.
What do you think the average HD dealer knows about suspension, when they send out bikes with shocks made of jelly???
Do me a favor and let someone who has some idea what they are talking about answer my question.

Re: Shocks

Try asking the same question at 1130cc.com you should get a sensible solution there.
I ride a "D" with the suspention set at its hardest coz I ride 2 up most of the time which OK. I like the look of the Black Coils on mine. but have been thinking about Air shocks as I think they look neat too.

My biggest bugbear is how much the front end dives when braking
