End to End Gold, 30th June 2007 RFL

Hi All

I know that the RFL 2007 is soon to be announced, but due to my work schedule I had to make a decision on what to do and when, sooner rather than later.

So here is my plan

I will be in Glasgow on 29th June to do a personal coaching session with a client, and when I've finished that I will ride up to John O'Groats and get some shut eye.

I will leave JOG Saturday morning and ride a route that will take me over 1000 miles to end up at Lands End inside 24 hours. Thus earning the IBA Saddlesore 1000 award and an End to End Gold.

I would like to raise some money for the RFL whilst doing this so if anyone fancies dipping their hand in their pocket (every little bit makes a difference) then I'm sure the funds would be gratefully received.

Also, is there anyone in the Glasgow area that could find a bit of floor space for a southern jessie on the evening of 28th June?

Thanking you all in anticipation

David

Rock and Roll....

Nice one David, (stick me down for a fiver) you will enjoy the trip (I hope) and also meet some good people. Perhaps we should get some Hard Ass or Iron Butt badges made for the special few! Unfortunately I will most likely be in Eire that weekend but if there is any help that I can give please feel free to ask
Kendo and myself have been discussing the RFL and we are looking at August 18th-19th as a possible date, comments welcome folks!

Re: End to End Gold, 30th June 2007 RFL

Ok People

Here is the SP on this event. In order to get to an event in Gaydon on Sunday 1st July here is my schedule.

11:00 29th June leave Stirling and ride to John O'Groats, to Edinburgh, to M1/M25 Junction, to Lands End, and finaly to Gaydon Motor Heritage Centre for a pre 23:00 finish on Saturday 30th June. Total mileage just over 1,500, time just under 36 hours, and a qualifying Bun Burner 1500 IBA ride.

So as not to impinge on the RFL I am going to raise funds for a charity called The DABW Foundation The DABW Foundation which was set up by a friend of mine who sadly died of cancer last month. As you will see if you check out the website, the charity is building wells to supply fresh water, a Health Centre, and other facilities in Malawi. A good cause I'm sure you will agree.

You can donate direct to DABW, details can be found on their website. Or you can mail me a cheque or use my Paypal account (PM me for details).

Bazza, can we make this a sticky to give it a higher proflie?? Does it need to move forum??

If anyone fancies meeting at the start or end of the ride (like where in Stirling should I start?) it would be great to have you as witnesses.

See you on the road

David
