EXHAUST SYSTEM:

Replacements units, other than bikes registered before 01.Jan.1985, must have the BS AU 193 stamp.

that one seems a little out of date as grey imports were failing with stock exhausts as due to not having this stamped on them or the kite mark and it was taken to the gov and i thought it had been revoked?
as long as it does not say not for road use i though they were legal within reason

I think the BS marking was revoked under EU laws.

I think this now covers it.

The kitemark thing does seem to vary from test centre to test centre, I have also heard that noisy pipes can be subject to the tester's opinion and that if you cover up the not for road use sticker there is naught they can say. The pipes issue will always be contentious.

thats the one and yes if you cover it up they are not allowed by law to remove anything to see what is underneath
