Re: Personal Injury Claims

Hi Den it's Dave's wife Robbie

Den you definately need a solicitor. Try Warner Goodman 0800 919230.
I had a very similar thing happen to me in 2003. I was knocked off my pushbike by a Council dustcart (don't laugh) and tore the ligaments in my shoulder. It was clearly his fault and they immediately admitted liability. You would have thought that would make a claim stright forward, but believe me it was not. It took another three years to complete my claim and although the law moves very slowly it was worth it. Without a soilicitor I would have probably taken the first offer which was half what I eventually got. It took a long time but it was worth it.

With regard to the bike. I had to get a new bike. The old one was wrecked in the accident but I also felt that I needed to leave the accident behind me so a new bike helped. I know how Nerys feels. She has suffered at the hands of another and it was not her fault. This makes her feel vulnerable but my feeling is don't let the buggers get the better of you. The accident happened but that doesn't mean it will happen again.

I hope that this helps you. If you have any other questions please don't think twice about asking me.

Robbie x

Re: Personal Injury Claims

You NEED someone who knows the in's and out's of claims.

They will know what can be claimed for and when to accept the offer.

Re: Personal Injury Claims

I agree get a professional firm/solicitor on the job - sounds simple but can take ages - at least a year.

Make sure you get a no win no fee arrangement also you want your legal costs paid separately - i.e. you get 100% of the damages award - otherwise you could end up with f*** all out of the settlement.

I know it's a push-iron, but these may be worth a try: Home of White Dalton Motorcycle Solicitors

I don't honestly know if they do non-motorcycle claims, but I can recommend them very highly from personal experience.

Gotta be worth a call ...
