Re: Immobilised in France

the only way is to remove !!!!!!! they are i.m.o just not worth it, im a trained alarm fitter for 2 major manufactures, and have seen to many bikers stranded because off them. if they used a good lock/chain they would of been ok. and who ever takes any notice of a sounding alarm ?

Re: Immobilised in France

me and some mates have had this happen in france spain norway and belgium but luckily we have normally only had to push the bikes about 100 yds and they have been ok but having said that
URRELL has a good point it is worth knowing the override codes which i dont at the moment but will definitely sort for future reference

An arm and a leg.
There is no problem if its working and the rider knows how to disable it. It's not just the alarm it's the immobiliser as well. Would an after-market alarm provide any more worthwhile protection?
Have a look over at the XLFORUM and you will see lots who want to get rid of the TSSM but it's tied into the system pretty well and is expensive to remove (to replace the TSM part) so most leave it as it is.

I have added the siren to the imobiliser as it's probably me who will hear it and it gives me added peace of mind.

Re: Immobilised in France

didn't know that, never worked on a Harley alarm. i have removed plenty of after market ones in 30 mins or so, no more than £30. i just dont have a lot of faith in them, ive had customers complain about a bike fitted with both factory and after market alarms just cutting out when riding !!!!!!!!!! to me that is dangerous aspecially if they are in the fast lane !!!!

Don't think the immobiliser would bring a bike to a halt in them conditions too often as they should fail safe. The tilt switch could play up but my monies on the CPS, poor connections or broken/nipped wires if the problem is electrical.
