Re: Immobilised in France

I live in France-never heard of this problem, not happened to me yet, but then my bikes have all been bought in france. We have some UK riders in our chapter who do the summer out here-again not heard of any probs from them.
Why do you turn yr motor off when going thru the peage?.

In my experience ..............yes I have been there and done that and pushed the bike and been aprehended by gendarmerie on toll road etc etc. but eventually got the bike disarmed and did a runner from them.........but thats another story

To answer Hirsty, it's not that you switch off going through the pay station that does it, it's when you've paid and you decide to stop for a leak / fag before you carry on you're journey.

My advise to any body would be to study your manual and read it over and over few times following the instructions given on changing the existing pin number and re-setting with a pin of your own ( a number that your not liable to forget ) and as someone has previously suggested, once youve input that to keep yourself familiar with the disarm sequence by using it occasionally to remind you.

That way when you do find yourself in the situation, you will not be left in the sh--t as many of us have been
