| Sept 9 Brighton rideout
A good turn out on Sunday, about a dozen members were at Brenley corner. The 8.30 start was a bit overcast as we made off towards Detling where we met a few more members. The sun started to come through though down the M23 and continued throughout the day. Before Brighton Alan led us away from the direct route and led us through some beautiful countryside to Rottingdean and on into Brighton where we queued a short time to get along Maderia Drive to the Sussex Coasters stand, where we were able to offload are gear (thankyou).Bikes continued to arrive throughout the day and were still arriving as we left around 2.30ish to head off to Wessons at Horam(?) for a bite to eat before they shut. Alan led us back across country via Hawkhurst,Sissinghurst, Pluckley and so on,back to the M2 and home. Biggest drama of the day "well for me anyway", and Martin will bear witness to this was when we came upon a bend strewn with loose gravel, not wishing to touch the brakes I entered the next bend still carrying to much speed which resulted in me taking to the giggle weeds standing on the pegs and nearly soiling ones undergarments!! Apart from the said incident all agreed that it had been a great day and those of you who didnt make it had missed out. Thankyou all involved Kevin. PS can anyone recommend a good stain remover!!  |
