Re: Ride out ideas for 08

I'll update the zip file (now that I know it works) over this weekend with the dates of the international rallies and any other known dates off one off events that have been suggested since version 1.

I can smell Friday and the end of the week from here...

Re: Ride out ideas for 08

Okay, version 2 of the Region 17 Riders' Diary (East Kent) 2008 is attached. Again, another zip file, unzipped into Word.

Please ignore the previous version 1.

This version includes a third page with the list of European rallies, which I have copied from Baza's thread.

On Saturday 19th at The Bell St Nicholas at Wade, I will bring along hard copies of this for us to fill in what we are planning to do for the Sunday rideouts and discuss which rallies people are planning to go to. I will also bring copies of the lists of suggestions for shorter rides (bimbles) and longer rides which should help us to plan.

Following the 19th, I will then produce Version 3, which hopefully will be the final version for the year ahead.

Kevin Bolden came over today and was very helpful in getting this together in readiness for the 19th. We also suggest one in four or five Sundays is marked as 'spare' to be used to reallocate a popular choice of rideout that may have been rained off earlier in the season. That way we build in some flexibility and still get to do the most popular choices.

Again, popular feedback to me through PMs and this thread suggests that if a planned rideout is rained off or for whatever reason fails to go ahead, then that's it. It doesn't automatically become the rideout for the following week. This would be chaos... Hence the idea of building in 'spares'.

Sorry to ramble on...

Obviously the more who are there on the 19th, the more people will feel involved in the planning.

Re: Ride out ideas for 08

I've just printed a list of all HDRCGB Rallies for 2008 together with spaces for members to indicate which they are interested in going on this year.

Ill bring it along to The Bell, St Nicholas at Wade on the 19th.

Of course this won't commit anybody to have to go and the weather that weekend could be awful,

BUT...

it will give an idea of who is planning to go on which so that those people can start to plan together.

Again, I'll post the completed version on the site following the 19th and members can also add their names if they were unable to get along to the meeting. This especiallly goes for members who generally attend the Bredgar or Pied Bull meetings and those who attend none...

So, if you want to start thinking about it and talking to your other half in the meantime, go ahead get the family calendar out.

If your family is anything like mine then if it's not on the calendar it doesn't happen!

Hey Mike

Don't worry about that. I can see a number of us taking up your kind invitation.

This will feature as one of the 'events' that we'll discuss on Saturday.
