Region 17 T-shirt ideas

Having spent an evening with kevin B developing ideas (ably supported on the IT by my son Mike, 13) we have the following suggestions for a new T shirt design for Region 17, South East.

We have run these past Al and Chris and both are in favour of wider exposure for comment, although we need to check with HQ whether HD would let us use the bar and shield logo. So the front would be bar and shield in background, this would be in orange (not red) - if indeed we can use it. if not we suggest we just use the horse. The horse is from the chalk drawing on the hill at Cheriton - representing Kent but NOT Invicta (to avoid HOG association).

The back design uses the 45 engine and would be full back with the REGION 17 across the shoulders, a large 45 engine with SOUTH EAST below that.

So far we've had some supportive comment and would welcome more, but it would be good to have some new shirts sweats etc before the season kicks in properly. The designs will be taken to the regional meets across this month in order to gauge further opinion.

Harley davidson has innumerable T shirt designs. Why shouldn't we have a new one? Many other regions have developed exciting and attractive T shirts. We would like to do the same.

I'm sorry but we can't use any bar and shield. I have a word doc that I can send you explaining what we do have and can use.

Like it lots. Apart from Baza's timely reminder about the Bar and Shield, which he's completely right about, it would be a breach of copyright. The MoCo gets very cross about breaches of their copyright. It would be great if we could get some in time for the Pitch and Party.

I see you have Baza copy righted in a bar and shield on your avatar.

I was thinking of making some R17 Stainless timing covers.

Yes my avatar is also a breach of copyright. The MoCo gets very cross about breaches of their copyright.

But what they are really bothered about is any product that is made that could be mistaken that it is their product.

I may not get sued for the value of my house with my silly little avatar.

If you look on ebay there is loads of stuff like eagle patches etc that are counterfeits.

Good point and as the T Shirts are being sold it would be an Issue.

I would like to keep this thread to discussion around T shirt designs if possible.

Given that - How about the Cheriton Horse logo on the front (minus bar and shield) with the 45 design on back?

baza seems to use the bar and sheild on his avitar,as it is altered,to have his name,we are only doing similer,the term copy design right,and registered trade mark i think only apply to exact copies,you cant sell a rolex,if not a rolex oyster,but you can legaly sell the same watch as a rovex lobster,surely the registered trade mark is different,and we have no lettering.

Why don't you get over my avatar? I change that every so often. I am not selling or making a product. Gray your local committee man now has the word doc so you can pm him and get the facts from the horses mouth.

been havin a look in some books a similer shape with different words or none is not a breach of copy design right or patient,a registerd trade mark however is,there registered trade mark is bar and sheild,written or unwritten but there colours are theres so unwritten bar and sheild in a colour not known as HD orange,is not,eg you cant have HDRCGB COCA COLA IN RED AND WHITE,but you can have HDRCGB COLA in red and white cans,eg you cant have bills chanal no 5 but you can put chanel no5 in a tin and call bills piss,and legaly sell it,you can pateint a name but not a smell.you can register a trade mark,in colour and shape and writing but seperate the key elements in our case colour we might be ok,and on the subject it is a criminel offence to mark as a registered trade mark something that is not registered,eg BAZA, THAT IS WHY YOU WONT FIND REGISTERED TRADE MARK SIGN ON KEY BOARDS,YOURS LITTLE BILL phd.
