Re: Region 17 - Name your rides.

The change from the Sportster to the Road King wasn't to bad. The only drawback was that I can't race the Road King along the county lanes like I did with the XL883. But on the plus side, I took the Road King on a 2500 miles trip the week after I got it and it was very compfy.

Re: Region 17 - Name your rides.

I was quite surprised to see that one or two of you had also owned a Norman Nippy! Maybe not quite so rare down here as they were originally built in Ashford I believe, but I owned and rode mine, which was passed on to me by my dad, up in North Wales where I was born and raised!

I was often to be seen peddaling my bo***cks off up many a 1 in 3! Never took it up Snowdon though! More suited to the flatlands of East Kent I reckon!

Oh and John, nice to see another Tiger 100SS in there mate!

A Big Twin is great for touring and to go to rallies (no problems of taking all the stuff you want (tent, sleeping bag, booze)

Re: Region 17 - Name your rides.

Trust me, you start scraping your floorboards, if you try to lean into a corner on a Road King as you would on a Sportster (I've done it).

Re: Region 17 - Name your rides.

You ask the guys that ride with me. I don't do corners. Sounds perfect.

My D&D is only inches from the floor.

YES but the floorboards do lift up so no problems.

After you clean your bike lift up the floorboards and let the water drip out from under the rubbers.
