Ive been in touch with the organisers of this event who tell me the seafront will be closed from the Station roundabout along to the hill. Now I dont know if thats Elephant or Fort Hill. If its Fort hill we may be able to take up Darrens offer of utlising his works premises in some way as the cost of a pitch for a hostility tent 6m x 3m is £250.00! These people do Brighton 140,000 people last year, first time at Southend early this year 20,000, so they expect quite a good turnout here in Margate bearing in mind its a first again hopefully with warmer weather than Southend had

The Coasters don't get charged for having the hostility tent at Brighton .

I know I live in Margate but what is the "Meltdown"?

Ace cafe to Margate run. In defence of the Council I dont think the fee is their doing, rather the organisers who see it as a way to make money for the chosen charity. Cant do links so google Margate meltdown for the full sp

We don't pay for either of them and we nick more space than they alot .
I reckon it is disgusting for the council to charge, we are local not for profit clubs .
I reckon someone should have a word with them .
