Ural Motorcycles Ltd

What a nice bloke Danny is at Ural Motorcycles, West Kingsdown, Nr. Brands Hatch.

I met Danny for about 2 minutes at Mikes Frarm Party on the Sunday morning.

I mentioned my Sportster has never run as I anticipated it would with the V&H Fuelpak.

I got free advice! (rip it out and throw it away)..

Anyway had a ride up to West Kingsdown this afternoon, Danny showed me every bike in the place! and took time talk about each one even though I was not a prospective bike customers.

I came away feeling this is someone I could trust and would enjoy doing business with...

As a result of this I am going to a Pro-Fueller fiitted along with new crankcase beather. Not just yet though, needs to be a bit closer my payday and hopefull the fitfull running will be well and truly sorted.

Good stock of Harley, more interesting than the Canterbury 'Stealers'.

Re: Ural Motorcycles Ltd

I bought my Sportster from Uralmoto Neil 6 years ago .
I was interested in a trike at the time. Although I was convinced that the original Ural Cossacks were a load of shite, Neil tried to convince me that the new Urals were a different kettle of fish and had been much improved.
I ended up buying the lone Sportster in the corner from amongst a load of shiney Russian scrap that they called motorcycles.
I believe that Neil had re-opened the re-import of the Ural to the UK.
Having read the website statement below.

Quote:
Quote from Ural Motorcycles Ltd;
It is with deep regret that we announce our split from Uralmoto.
After a 10 year association, firstly as UK importer/distributor and, more recently as a dealer, we have reached an impasse.
We still maintain a stock of spare parts, to support our existing customers as best we can. (We will no longer supply parts on mail order).
Any further enquiries for bikes or parts should be directed to F2 Motorcycles
at Banbury .
I suspect that Neil is personally responsible for what few of these abominations are on the road and possibly that many potential death threats from poor decieved souls has prompted his repentance into HD's .

What a lot of old cack the Ural was and is .

Does anybody actually know of anyone who has one of these shite crates on the road or rides it within arms length of their tool box ?

Well I guess he got away with it for 10 years, I guess he should consider himself lucky

Re: Ural Motorcycles Ltd

I am reliably informed that the Rt. Honourable Barrie Reid of this parish was a Ural owner for many years!

Re: Ural Motorcycles Ltd

I suspect that the Ural forums and websites are currently being run by the KGB

but if they can't supply the address of a good therapist for being out of their mind for buying it the first place

I would suggest drinking a bottle of vodka and considering suicide

Re: Ural Motorcycles Ltd

My mate across the street from me has one of them thar things...
He used to ride an old ironhead sporty years ago and was saying he was getting another bike, omitting to tell me what he was getting.
Turns up with one of these in a solo guise. They me be tough as old boots and run on just about anything but they ain't my cup of tea. Still, he is happy with it and took it on a two up jaunt over to France/Germany recently and had no problems with it.
He has had 80mph out of it and when he told the bloke in Banbury about that, i think the response was along the lines of, shit man, no way.( i don't think they are meant to do 70 even)

Still, it's better than walking.
