At the week end bike was dropping oil, thought it was just oil lines needing nipping up but gearbox main seal has gone, so gearbox out time or Kev I could put it in shop
Just have to use the chop for a bit

Oh.It's a shame it wasn't a simple fix.
Taken mine off the road and dismantled the electrical system.Converting it to 230v with extension lead. For long journeys I disconnect and coast the last bit
Just bought new battery.(let's hope Wifey never finds out how much )

Re: busted

I think this might be the reason for the oil leak! I've lost my balls

Was told by one dealer HD do a up grade on seal and bearing, ok how much? Ł2118 it's a new gearbox I said no thanks. Haven't been able to find parts at Harley dealers, no surprise there then

Re: busted

Let me know if you need a lift.
managed to solve my charging problem.Went up to London yesterday, watching my voltmeter carefully.I wasn't happy so changed the regulator this morning and everything seems to be much better.Got the meter out and checked the whole system out.All seems ok.As for the starting on one cylinder .Ripped the carb off this morning to have a look at things.Rebuilt, reset mixture and thrashed the bits off it for an hour.Overrun popping seems to have been cured by tightening up a slight leak on the rear exhaust.Mixture seems good.I'll start it cold tomorrow and see what happens.Got a big hammer ready.
