Re: Gliding Club

I flew up to Chester last friday with a 67 year pilot in a at least a 40 year old Rallye something or other...

Powered flight was to say 'interesting' leaving Hoo and refuelling at Thurrock before heading Northwest.

Very Very 'lumpy' flight...!!!

O yea of little knowledge make sure you know what you are letting yourself in for...!!! they use thermals for lift and lift 500' in seconds and the lack of can plummet you the same or more. Just make sure you are in a position to retrieve your stomache contents between lifts and dumps....

Take plenty of Tesco bags for the puke....

Put me down love it, but more used to jumping out of old daks and hercy birds though...(in a past life)

Re: Gliding Club

Before getting all excited I believe there's a weight and height limit in gliding

Basic Requirements

We are unable to offer trial lessons or courses to people under the age of 14. The maximum weight limit is 15 stone (95kg) and people in excess of 6 ft 2 ins (1.88m) may have difficulty in fitting into the aircraft.

From Kent Gliding Club website.
