time to go

membership is coming up for renewal soon but i wont be as there is not enough membership over this side of kent to make it worthwhile and the increasing level of censorship on the site, especially the recent 'quin' bit about someone in another region not being allowed to use the term 'white' sealed it. i will still be drifting around on the site as a guest occasionally.

it only remains for me to say to those i have met 'in the flesh' and those on line and good (what is left of) 2009 and a better and more prosperous 2010.

safe riding.

Re: time to go

Thats a shame Brian, dont know about the 'white' thing but sometimes we can get a tad too 'pc' but I understand your reason for not rejoining. The north part of the region (and the mid up to a point) can be barren areas regarding getting members motivated (just ask Gypsy) here in the East of the county we are quite fortunate in a lot of members live very close together,so as today (a wet, windy miserable day) we got a few bodies together in a local pub for a pint and a chat.
Thats why on a Sunday. and at GPs etc we do have a few Mid Kenters such as Micktheblade,Hal Littlechris Stormkitten and others (sorry if Ive forgotten you) come down to ride and party with us. All are always welcome. I know Gypsy (and others) have tried really hard to get as much going on 'up there' as we have going on 'down here' so maybe reconsider, give us another year and liase with your more'local' reps to get things happening in your neck of the woods.
If you do decide to go, keep popping in to check up on whats happening, you never know North Kent could be the 'buzzing area' next year.

Re: time to go

Hi Brian,

Having only met the once, we had a very good chat about allsorts (i do remember you telling me about your concerns).
I agree with Chris L, try giving it a chance for one more year, hopefully with a few more from North Kent, things may get better.
Ive only just joined but met some very good people so far and am looking forward to next year, to get out and about to ride with more of them.
In my mind Gypsy has done an excelent job in informing people of whats on our part of region, its up to us to get behind him and support the region.
Hope to see you around, hopefully still as a member or if not drop into the forum to see whos about.
Jason

Re: time to go

Sorry to see you have lost heart with the club mate ,yes it does seem odd that members to the west don't come on here much .It seems to me that as you go west from medway the riders are more independant and even in established groups who ride regularly together .I did start out keen and wanting to meet guys near dartford etc with a few brecky meets but not a lot happened and let that slip,i also know that i post a lot of general interest items or rides and that doesnt work either .Tho it doesn't help that i am not keen on big group rideouts .Never mind hope to catch you about somewhere ,stay lucky

Re: time to go

I dont think the East part of the region was any different to the rest of it. However we have pushed hard to 'raise the bar' here in the East with the calendar, GPs, handing out calling cards, and being here on the forum. And it appears to have paid off. Give us/club your company again next year and maybe take an upperhand in promoting your part of the region. Those members from Central or North who ride and party with us know how we do things, try and recruit them for next year. Im sure they'd like to operate from nearer home sometimes. Whatever you choose to do though, be it stay or go keep in touch and try and join us at some point . Best regards, Kevin
