Re: Region 12 Paignton Meeting

I think that we should let members knowthe reason for this. The reason is that we are thinking of stopping/changing this meeting piont as we understand that there are very few members attending this meet, and as we pay for a years membership we would like to know if this is still worthwhile.

So let Paul Daw know what you think.

Tk no decision will be made with out consultation of the members concerned. Paul just wants to know who is attending the meeting as he has been unable to attend himself to date. If any one wants to be assistant rep for the area as we have a vacancy. Again please contact Paul ref this meeting.

Question Re: Region 12 Paignton Meeting

It would appear to be a bit of a defeatist attitude to consider throwing in the towel and cancelling the Torquay meet because numbers are down at present.
Surely it would be far better to encourage members to attend this venue, especially as there are quite a few in that area ( at least 33 I know of); not only that, but during the months when the Paighton bike night is on it is an ideal venue to meet up after having a wander round, chatting to other Harley riders and hopefully inviting them along to see what the club is all about.
If Paul doesn't get the desired feedback from his request asking members to contact him, then I personally think that it might be an idea if he and the assistant reps do a bit of phoning about and offer a bit of friendly encouragement to get bums on chairs!
On some occasions there are less than a handful of people at the Lee Mill meet, if Torquay bites the dust are we to be the next for the chop?

Cool Re: Region 12 Paignton Meeting

Idealy we would like an assistant rep to come forwards for the area from the 33 members in the area and to take over the meeting and drum up attendance, moving the location for the meeting is one option as there is a cost to the club for using the rowing club. Nothing will be changed without consulting the members concerned. Thats why Paul wants them to contact him to disscuss this.

Re: Region 12 Paignton Meeting

Any further news on this ?

I've only just joined, but would be quite keen to go along to local meetings in Torbay. Didn't realise there were so many members down here in South Devon.

Re: Region 12 Paignton Meeting

I presume from the lack of replies that the Paignton Meetings are now dead and buried. I attended my first Meet at Bovey this week and was made very welcome . . but it would be really nice to meet up with local members from the Torbay area.
