Hotels in Devon

Hello Region 12. Nel and I are heading off to the Minehead thing in July (Yes, I know it's embarrassing, but it's an excuse to make the journey, so don't knock it...), and were thinking of staying in the area for a couple of days, to take a look around Devon, maybe with a few other rampaging Scots. As we won't be taking any camping gear, we're looking for a reasonably priced hotel, decent beer, bar and bar food, and somewhere safe to park the bike(s).
We had a look at the links for Bottleneck Inn and Pedleybarton Cottage in the 'quin, but neither link seemed to work, and looking at other info on the Bottleneck, it seems not to have any rooms in any case...
Nothing's set in stone, as I might have to get back for work, but if anyone could point me in the direction of some half decent places we could consider, that would be welcome. Some good weather would be welcome too, as we had frost on the ground last night...
We'd thought of taking another look at Cornwall too, but people say July is not a good time, unless you're fond of emmets...

Re: Hotels in Devon

That would be good, although meeting up at something this size might be a challenge...
Maybe we could set up an HDRCGB membership stall.....
That should go down like a pork chop in a Tel Aviv restaurant....
