| Re: any good briefs in the region I think you will find this will automatically go to court,, not a fixed penalty. My only suggestion is to plead guilty, which sometimes reduces the ban, and plead poverty, like getting to work, may lose job etc, and the judge may be a bit more leniant on the ban, The fine which you will receive is partially means tested.. ie, it would be no good fining a road sweeper £600, cos he can opt to pay weekly, Whereby a director of a company can pay and is likely to be fined a lot more. You must grovel and say how you realise how stupid you have been, in otherwords. Any ailments or worries you may have had, may also help your case. There are solicitors around who specialise in this sort of thing,, but they are an arm & a leg job. I would suggest you dont represent yourself, and if you cannot afford a solictor, opt for the duty solicitor. When you receive your court summons, go to the court that is sitting before the case and ask the court usher if he can arrange a meeting with the duty solicitor,, dont leave it to the day of the case.. You may be entitled to legal aid,, but I am not sure on that one.. I dont think anybody can rib you,, as after our do`s, a lot of us are just over.. I stand to be corrected on my suggestions.. I am sorry it has happened and wish you luck.. ![]()

If no to the above, you could find a loophole.. Have a word with your boss at work, you never know he may be able to help, and give a character reference in court, Have a look at these web sites,, might help.. Comprehensive Guidance on Appearing in Court at Courtroom Advice (UK) X-Alc :::: Byrne Frodsham & Co. - Solicitors Hope this helps.. ![]()

| Re: any good briefs in the region Hi dunno if this will be of any help, on the NABD homepage there's an ad for free legal advice (National Association for Bikers with a Disability - Reg. Charity No: 1040907) they're affiliated to this club. The firm they use is (Mulderrigs Solicitors specialise in all types of accident, injury and compensation claims - Mulderrigs) who are members of NABD and BMF, i think they might be more for accident claims and such but If they cant be of use they'll prob' be able to steer you to someone who will. maybe worth a call, Good Luck, steve |
