Devon Advanced Motorcyclists

Hi folks

Just to let anybody thinking of taking any Advanced rider training know, Devon Advanced Motorcyclists (DAM) a registered road safety charity, have received a welcome support package from Devon County Council.

Basically anyone signing on after October 1st to do the skills for life package gets £24 cash back after taking the test (pass or fail). See this link Devon Advanced Motorcyclists - Home About halfway down the page.

For my sins I am the chair of DAM and should make it known that their is absolutely no profit gained from this post either to me or the club as we are all volunteers and as I said a registered charity.. I think it is only right that Devons Motorcyclists know what is on offer and road safety in Devon is a very hot topic with Devon CC.

Anyone wanting a bit more info then there is a training seminar next Tuesday night from 7.00 onwards at the Devon Drivers centre at Westpoint, all welcome. Just make yourself known to me when you turn up at the centre.

in North Devon we have RoSPA advanced riders courses, very similar to your group . So if your in the north Devon area you can pm me and i can tell you
more about us (i am a gold rider and an observer for RoSPA )
I dont think Devon advanced motorcyclists are up here??
both these groups are there to help you improve your riding and could save your life,

I signed up a couple of months ago . . still haven't had a chance to go out on my first assessment ride yet, but will start soon, hopefully.

Hi John,

We used to have a couple of Observers up North but no real presence I guess. The car group had a splinter bike group but it seemed there was a bit of desent in the camp.

Much respect for you Gold medal chaps, I know you have to work very hard to get it and retain it!

Good man, i`m sure you will get a lot out of it, you have joined at a time when DAMs training program is at the top of its game! the seminars and open air training at westpoint proving more popular than ever.

Confidence building is what its all about!

The Test should be a formality, our Cheif senior Observer is himself a ROSPA Gold and Diploma holder and his training method and ethos has very much filtered down through the other senior and ordinary observers. The training standard is very high and the group has recently won the group Acheivement award out of 90+ bike groups in the UK so you will be in good hands.
