British dibble with a Harley! Things are looking up in this country.

Question; There was reference to a snake in a previous post about the traffic cop.
I don't particularly understand the insult. Imho, the British (motorcyle cop) do a bloody good job. They are bikers with far higher riding skills than the vast majority of us.
And from my information they are generally more sympathetic to the biking fraternity than most people realise. Of course, if you act like a twat be expected to be treated like one.

I agree 100%

That's baiting not policing! Putting not only their lives in danger but all other people around too. Should have been stopped ASAP for everybody's safety.

Re: unmarked police bike

I personally have no problem with the police.Generally they do a damn fine job,and if "sneaking" is catching the dips on the roads, then so be it.Them that ride reponsibly, have nothing to fear.

I can agree up to a point. As an ex-Traffic Cop and Class 1 Rider I do have a few points. Generally we were dissuaded from chasing solos with solos, it is dangerous both for the biker and the cop, and actually stopping another biker that doesn't want to be stopped, almost impossible. At least with a car, a Stinger can be used, which could be fatal for a biker. Nowadays there are helicopters about and with ANPR, it is better to gain evidence and then catch up later. As to giving commentary on a chase, it takes away some of the concentration on the road and ones actual riding can deteriorate, especially when the adrenalin is running! I look back at some of the silly chases I did and wonder how I survived! With two in a car, the passenger does the commentary leaving the driver just to drive. I believe that clip is a very bad example, and should have been stopped by the controller very much earlier. There is a bit of hypocrisy among some officers who are quite prepared to give a commentary while riding/driving, and then give someone a ticket for using a mobile phone/ eating an apple/ changing a radio station

Chasing a solo with a car however is nearly always doomed to failure, especially on the riders home patch when he knows all the footpaths and narrow gates!
