We did Gordon Proud

Well, what a fantastic tribute to our Gordon. Many thanks for all those who came and helped make a sad occasion bearable.

The weather and the company of around 65 bikers made me remember all the reasons why I have enjoyed belonging to HDRCGB for so long.

I have just read the comments from others whom attended today and it makes me chuffed that so many people cared for our mate.

May I first of all thank our naughty school boys Simon & TonyM for the wonderful work they did today and also Steve, Hammy, Devon John etc for the professional blocking - which actually was better than what the Police managed to do.

Finally, we were handed a tax disc complete with holder outside the church. This came off a bike which went to the Crem and did not return to Filleigh afterwards. Please look at your bikes to check all is in place, if not contact me.

Once again, many thanks - I'm sure Gordon was looking down with a huge grin - totally gobsmacked.

Well said Lesley, it was an honour to attend. We certainly gave him a noisy send off at the Crematorium. Ride in Peace Gordon. Gone but not forgotten.

It will be nice to attend the Remembrance Day next year and have a closer look at the Gardens . . he was obviously very talented with his work.

Re: We did Gordon Proud

Thought it was a fitting tribute to someone who obviously had high regard in the region, both as a fellow Harley rider and also, from what was said about him, a genuine 'nice bloke'.

I thought the coffin was brilliant and the 'rev-up' at the crem was something else. Never seen or heard anything like it before and I am sure Gordon would have loved it. Well done to everyone who organised his final ride.
