Now now Andrew/Jenny.

hogdiver this is not your region Jan aka pastyman is referring to his region being quiet.

Have you gone to any regional meets or met anyone yet because your post quoted above is way out of line.

You have not posted in your region since July.

What's your problem with the site and why that attitude?

You could not of got a better welcome than you did when you made your first post and we still have not met you:

Re: why so quiet

Just to clarify . . before different meanings are read into this thread . . . there has been a discussion in our Region 12 Members Only area that was of a sensitive nature. Most of the comments and viewings have, in fact, been made from members outside our region . . probably because the issues involved are of a wider nature and not just limited to one region.
Hopefully things have settled down. Obviously, any issues (about anything) within our own Region should be aired at any of the monthly meetings so that things can be discussed openly rather than behind closed doors.

We've made a lot of progress in attracting new members into our Region recently, and have also held a Fantastic Rally at the River Dart which was thoroughly enjoyable. There have been many new faces at meetings and we always try our best to give a warm welcome
Let's look to the future and try and build Region 12 even more !

Re: why so quiet

Too right Steve!

I still consider myself a new member as I only joined in Mar 09 although I was a guest from Nov 08.

I can't tell you what a great time I have had in the past 9 months. All the meets, rideouts have been well organised and very enjoyable. Everyone has been welcoming and genuinely friendly and I certainly haven't experinced any "Clique" or eliteism, which you do get in some other clubs. In fact, it is great to see so many of the Cornwall region on a regular basis and I am getting to know the North Devon bunch as well. Only last week, I was on my own in Tamworth Services on my way up to Walesby waiting for the Region 12 guys when I noticed Essjay and others from Cornwall & I ended up having lunch with them and we hardly knew each other.

The River Dart Rally was simply awesome and ran extremely well. There was even a refridgerated van to keep the beers cool. Beer & burgers at Ł1 each plus excellent music and friendship. Life doesn't get much better than that! I also went to the New Forest Rally which was fun riding up with everyone and again, good beer, good music and great friendship.

I've only had a Harley for just over a year but joining the club was the best thing I did and I'm looking forward to many more too (As long as my liver holds out). No manner of silly negative comments are going to put me off the club as there are always differing opinions in any club and the majority of people know what is right and what is wrong.

I'm just glad I live in Devon, own a Harley and I'm a member of the club. Remember, many of us have friends and family fighting & dying for us to have these rights. It puts the bickering into context don't you think?

Re: why so quiet

You are quite right guys you have a great region and rally etc etc. I feel our friend/guest hogdiver was having a dig at me...LOL

Seeing as I am retired (Fire Service) and do most of the clubs rallies.

........funny though that he posted in your region?

Jan aka pastyman has rejoined after his riding absence for the last 12 months and service overseas. He is a good bloke to have a drink and party with as we in region 13 (clique) found out.

Re: why so quiet

The 'Kernow crew' represent what the club really should be like... they are a fantastic group. However, I have to say that I was very disheartened when I introduced myself to some of the region 12 members at their tent during Paignton bike week.... I felt distinctly unwelcome, and it was a struggle to get a conversation out of anyone, let alone a cup of tea. I don't know the issues arouund certain members and am happy to chat and get on with anyone in the club, but I was informed that my 'choice' of friends did not bode well for me... What on earth is that all about??? I've just had a bike accident, and some of the people you seem to have issues with have been the first to call and offer help.. surely that's what this club is about???

Sorry about that Laura. I didn't know about that. As one of the assistant reps for Torbay I can only apologise that you weren't made welcome. I can only say that some of us are working hard to try and get the Region moving forward in a positive way.

Laura - Sorry that was your perception. Some of the guys are a little shy perhaps. You obviously haven't met JJ then. He has enough personality for a whole region on his own!! Well I hope to meet you sometime and sorry to hear about your accident & glad you are getting help from the club. I only joined this year so I wasn't too involved but hope to be next year and I'll certainly be up for a chat and a cup of tea.... Perhaps catch you on a rideout before then .....
