Rare Harley-Davidson stolen from lay-by

Police are appealing for witnesses after a rare customised Harley-Davidson motorcycle has been stolen from a lay-by near Swaffham on Sunday evening.

The owner was riding the cycle, registration B163 VNK along the A1065 at Castle Acre Hill, when it ran out of petrol shortly after 7pm.

He left the vehicle in a lay-by, secured to itself with a chain and managed to get a lift into Swaffham to buy some petrol. When he returned to the lay-by, he discovered the bike had been stolen.

Police say the Harley Davidson has distinctive markings, high metal blue in colour with silver flames on the body and rear fender. It has a duel carbs engine and polished chrome body work. The bike is easily identifiable and fairly rare.
