Yes we must do this one weekend Greg's maderia drive methinks. As for a good pub to meet up/venue in Brighton may I suggest the Good Compainions in Dyke Road apart from being realy close for me ! It has just had new management quite large with parking and 5 mins from town centre and gregs. Ok its not perfect but please check it out.......to be continued.... As for the Royal Coach its ok and the beachhogs use it. I/we dont usually go out on a school night maybe in the summer sometimes but usually knackered when home from work. |

| Re: Brighton
There is a 'regular' meeting at the Coach this Wednesday, why don't you all turn up and we can discuss the pub and some alternatives. You know the area, you can suggest a pub and if they are willing to have us (remember some pubs don't like bikers turning up en-masse - or they may have another group that uses their pub that wouldn't want us to be there). It would be great if there was a better attendance from members in the West. Usually there are 4 - 6 of us from the East and Ken, Paul and Wormy from the West. It's a long way for us to go if nobody else turns up. We could have an evening down the 6Bells instead. This time of the year is always bad but we don't see many in the summer either. It could be the pub, but unless someone does something about it we will continue to turn up and hope to meet someone else there. So come on you Westerners - do something, don't wait for someone else to do it for you.

| Re: Brighton
the coach is ok with us and pretty central for those travelling from worthing to,maybe we need to look for pub north of brighton for occasionals that is easy for the people that come from up their in northsarf, least the coach has large car park, food is good, and is easy to find, dont want to come in as newbees and start changing things that seem fine,if anyone wants an extra for brighton locals arranged by them maybe we pop along, and up for madeira drive in summer outside.we bit limited outside as i suffer allergie and to be honest fine with how things are have met nice lot of peeps over the coach, maybe you need to give it a few meets to feel at home we did.has the good compaions got bit of rep at mo?

| Re: Brighton Thanks to all for your comments. I've always wondered why Brighton isn't the bike town that many people think it is, or should be, but other than weekend visitors, Ace Cafe Run etc it's always been fairly quiet. I was a visitor for a good few years before I moved to Brighton back in the 80's and even then I had mates who'd travel up to party in Essex because we had a more active 'biker' scene than Brighton. As a city it should have plenty going for it but it's never quite made it as a centre for bike activity. When I was in Lancing I often took a run into Brighton of an evening just to park up on the seafront and have a coffee but it's a bit of a drag from over here in the east of Sussex. There was a good bit going on for a while with the Harley meet down at Woody's and then at the Volks but I've heard nothing of that for a good while now. There's certainly plenty of Harleys about, it's just a case of tempting the riders out on the fine evenings to meet up. The Madeira Cafe does attract quite a few people at times, so perhaps we can get a few meets in down there as the summer arrives. As to the question of The Royal Coach; it doesn't have a good feel to it but at the moment that is the official regional meet for the area. If anyone has any ideas for other venues that might prove better for our needs then feel free to speak up and we can give them a look with a view to moving if that looks to be the best move. Some will remember that in an attempt to fill what we thought was a need in other parts of Sussex we set up meets at Pease Pottage and Chichester. Both these meets failed due to the low level of attendance despite the percieved local interest and calls for a more local meet to be established by those in the area. Anyway as I said, have a think and if anyting in the way of venues or ideas for local meets come to you let us know. Phil....

I was surprised too when I got into biking nearly 3 years ago that there isn't more of a scene here. It has that name but no it's non-existing. They used to have a MAG district/region or what it's called but that folded. There used to be biker's pub years ago apparently. Maybe that's the Woody's you're talking about Phil. Was half cafe half pub or something. Hanging around madeira cafe (Gregs) I have made some friends so that's the best place in Brighton at the moment. Agree it's best to go to pubmeet and discuss alternatives there. Has to be easy to get to from Worthing and Shoreham as a place is quite good. Was in the royal coach in sept i think when there were some seriously dodgy geezers hanging around the doors (this is a serious comment). My male friends even felt uneasy about it. Last time i was there the paint was falling off etc. With the numbers we attract any pub will do, just need to look at parking etc. There's the Amsterdam in Shoreham which has good parking and they don't mind bikers (have been there with bikerfriends). Also easy for people coming from north, west and east as it's on the road coming down from the Shoreham roundabout. Amsterdam, Shoreham By Sea, West Sussex, BN43 5WQ - pub details # beerintheevening.com
