Eddie Kidd at The Dancing Dog 4th Oct

Hello to all our Coaster friends from Region 17.

At Wormy's suggestion I'm letting you know that on Saturday 4th October at around 2.30pm, we will be making a presentation of a cheque for £250 to Eddie Kidd.

You will remember that earlier this year many of us met with Eddie and Sami (Eddie's other half) at the Detling Show in Maidstone.

Eddie had his tent stolen and trashed overnight and some of us lent him a shelter for the remainder of the show.

At the 'Pitch n Party' the raffle raised £250 which we decided to present to Eddie. This will be the first opportunity to do just that given rallies and other goings on since...

Some of you (Mike, Kim, Phil, Wormy, P, Old Bob and others) have visited us at The Dancing Dog in Bobbing in recent months as it is pretty central for the region, the beer is good, the food better and the landlord very biker friendly. It seems the obvious place to meet and present the cheque. It's likely that there will be a further raffle on the day with an item being brought long by Eddie and Sami.

I will be talking to the mc press in coming days to try to get some good publicity for both Eddie and for H-DRCGB.

Would be great to see a few Coasters there. Thanks.

John has'nt confirmed as yet, but I believe its now the 11th, dunno why the change,but Im sure we will find out.

Sorry for the delay...

Eddie apologises for not being able to do the 4th as he has been offered some funding for doing an appearance elsewhere.

However, The Dancing Dog, Bobbing has offered the afternoon of Sunday 19th October 2.30 pm and Eddie has confirmed that he will be there.

Sorry for the confusion and any problems caused by the change in date.

We now need to get the press organised.

I'm really pleased because the latest edition of American V (Issue 31) has an article entitled

'Eddie Kidd in Kent'

This is on page 8 and tells the story of how we met with Eddie earlier this year at the GEMS at Detling and helped him out before going on to riase some money. The event at 'The Dancing Dog Saloon at 2.30pm on Sunday 19th (this coming Sunday) is advertised and I really like the way the article closes: -

'...the folk of Region 17 are trying to get as many riders there as possible, to show their support for an all too frequently forgotten motorcycling hero.'

I must thank Kevin Bolden for persevering with the press and to Andy Hornsby (editor of American v and HDRCGB member) for featuring us. The mag is bloody good this month as well. Thanks!

Eddie is likely to bring along copies of his DVD featuring his best jumps, for those who would like to buy a copy and he'll happily sign it for you.

We'll send round the bucket to try to raise a bit more cash on the day.
