Sunday 21st. (yesterday )

8 Coasters ( 4 bikes ) ventured out of Coasterland yesterday and went to the London Motorcycle Museum in Greenford:-
Me / Val, Simon / Jen, Tony / Jo, Tim / Sarah

Stopped for a fab brekkie first in Greenford high street - sniffed out by Simon. Gargantuan feasts were had by us all with the average price of £3.80 (ask Si about the Builders Breakfast! ).
Anyway, the Museum is a little gem. Only open at weekends and looks a bit ramshakled but great selection of bikes to look at and great characters to talk to. All for £3 entry!!!
Had a drink at the Ace after then a very brief look at the Bikesafe show in Hendon which looked good but we were a bit late.
Nice ride back in the sunshine.

A great day out with friends and, as usual, good fun.
Nice to meets Tims other half Sarah

That's the sort of place you could go to again and see something that you missed before, or that didn't register the first time. I like little places like that and that one is super. The little shed with all the bits and pieces of a bygone age was also worth looking around, dunno if you had a look whilst you were there.

I will go again sometime.

Re: Sunday 21st. (yesterday )

As the heading of this thread is about yesterday: I had a nice ride to Staplehurst to try out the brekkie at the Kings Head. I had been told it was a goodun and I can say that it was. I met our ole Mates Gypsy and Jules there and then Troy and Mik/Kim turned up as well. I met up with some other guys as well and we had a super morning. One interesting aside, beware of the 'thieving Blackbird' - you might think the Seagulls in Hastings are experts at a bit of mugging but they are amateurs compared to this Blackbird

A trip to the Kings Head for a brekkie would make a nice Sunday ride out if anyone is interested for the future - I've only got till the 22nd July when I go in to have another bionic update then I shall be out of the saddle for a few weeks

You knew I wouldn't let you down Bob. It was called 'The Sunshine Cafe'
A high 8 out of 10
The guy at the museum was a Trident expert, used to sponsor a racing team. Once he found out we had a shared interest there was no stopping.
I've now got his hot line number

Re: Sunday 21st. (yesterday )

When you want to go up there again Simon (cos you have a bit in your hand and he might be able to help you with it) give me a bell cos I would like to go again.

Oh yes, I forgot. Gypsy was quite concerned yesterday in case it was shut for Fathers day and thats why the Kent guys didn't go. You can tell from his post a few minutes before yours how relieved he is. Well done Gypsy mate - a bit of panic is good for the ole ticker

Re: Sunday 21st. (yesterday )

both Sarah and I have a realy great day with bril company. Thanks to Simon and Jen, Karl and Val, and Tony and Jo. The builders breakfast was huge and delisious and we certainly got the appretiation of the cafe staff with our bikes. The museum was great with some very dedicated staff, dont think the owner got much work done with Simon and Tony's lists of questions . Was admirering the shelf of helmets in the shop, then realised they were ours !! One highlight was the owner stroking a Harley until Tony mentioned it (British bike enthusiast) hahahaha the air turned blue for a few seconds.
1st time to Ace for us and will defo go back again. Great atmosphere. Will have to do Bikesafe again but arrive a little earlier maybe. Better directions from main routes would be adventagous Mr Policemen Organisers. Still a bril day though
