Hi Mike
Cannot disagree with you this time, as Annwn are a great club who have put on some great rallies in the past (Snow plough / Wall Banger ) and I have had the pleasure of accompanying them on one of their world tours.
As always
Respect to All Annwn Members.
Ride free and Safe
Aye Charlie

Well done to all involved with Heartbeat I understand they raised about £4000 - and well done to all who attended and subscribed.

4 grand is right Bob, which means that will cover most of the cost of putting on Brightona in Oct as hired marshalls etc this time as hectic last year and not enough volunteers on the day,33 grand raised 2008 Brightona day.

No, Annwn is hell for sure. In Welsh, Cwn = Dogs and Annwn = Hell therefore the dogs of Hell or Hellhounds are Cwn Annwn. The legend goes that they roam Cader Idris mountain looking for mortals to devour who then in turn become hell hounds!

Hi Richard
OK so I stand corrected but I was sure there was a connection, see below an extract from Annwn BC's History page.

"One of the members ‘Weary’ had been sporting the word Annwn on the shoulder of his leather for a while, for the sole reason that “nobody will know what it means!” He had actually picked the word up from an Alistair Crowley book. So in 1980 the ‘Black Aces’ had transformed into Annwn BC Sussex. The Celtic Dog was added to the patch after research found that Annwn, a mythological underworld of King Arthur’s medieval time, was guarded by Celtic fighting dogs also known as ‘hounds of Hell’ "

No problems . Annwn BC's history page is accurate. The whole Annwn / Arawn story is told in the old Welsh legend of the Mabinogi.
