Re: join me on the 10th for RTTW?

OK here are the Club's (not Region's) plans for RTTW.
  • There will be a HDRCGB hospitality tent at Drayton Manor on Friday night and Saturday morning. There will be tea, coffee and snacks for sale (50p each) with all profits going to RTTW. Thanks to Urrell for donating his sausage rolls
  • There will be HDRCGB banners on the tent, so you should be able to find us
  • Please support us and get your refreshments from the Club
  • For those who want to ride as/with HDRCGB, please park near to the hospitality tent before 10:30 am for the 11:00 official start time
  • If you have Region flags, you can always fly them on the bike and promote your Region and the Club. There is the option to ride with the overall RTTW flag parade which leads out the ride (seperate parking area at Drayton Manor), or ride with fellow HDRCGB members from our hospitality tent
  • For those camping on Friday night at Drayton Manor, I am hoping to have the hospitality tent up and running (still need to get some lighting sorted so may be a little dark )
  • I will be bringing the Club poppy wreath to be laid during the RTTW Service. I would suggest the ex-forces Club members choose who should perform the actual laying. Kev (ex-Royal Engineers) is hoping to get there but may not make it.
...and finally a personal request from me and Jain from Central Mercia, who are having to come in cars with all the hospitality stuff, so we would like to get a pillion ride with someone...any offers ?

Geoff

Re: join me on the 10th for RTTW?

Well, having just got back from a FANTASTIC day, just under 400 miles, some of them abit fast (thank you Dave), between 4000 and 6000 bikes, beutiful sunshine and a very good reason to be out. A big thank you to all who came, Tim, Sarah, Phil, Dave, Niel, Charles, Martin, Brig and even Pyro on the home journey. It was well worth the effort and as for the National Memorial Arboretum, what a beutiful setting, and very moving atmosphere. It's not just one memorial, buts lots of sepeate ones in a very peaceful surrounding (except when there are 6000 bike and a spitfire buzzing around).
If this event keeps on growing, wow what a thing to be part of.

Sorry about that, I got abit carried away. Thanks peolpe, see you all again soon.

Ken

Re: join me on the 10th for RTTW?

Just a quick post to say what a great day I had with my fellow members at RTTW. Many thanks to Ken, Dave, Tim & Sarah, Pyro, Charles, Brigg and the other guys whose names I have forgotten (sorry my memory is crap) who I rode up with. Was a tiring but satisfying day to see so many ( 9000 apparently) biking brothers and sisters supporting and remembering our fighting men and women.

Tim and Sarah sorry for not popping over to say hi at Brightona, we were in a rush and the kids were getting bored.
