18th Oct. Offham Kent.

At last wednesdays AGM Mick G told me about an event this coming sunday 18th Oct, over at Offham in Kent.

Maps of the world, street map search - powered by Multimap

I had a search on t'internet but couldn't find a dedicated site for the event, seems it's mainly a word of mouth jobbie, but I did find this quote from another forum ...

"rods,classics,yanks,steam engines,scooters,classic bikes etc
no entry fee
bar-b que,pub,real ale etc etc"

Sounds like quite a nice do, and if the weather is OK might make a nice ride destination.

Mike and I will be returning from the Reps Meeting so won't be able to take part but if any of you fancy it post a meeting point and go see what's happening.

Note: I hear that Seven Mile Lane has roadworks so you may have to approach from the A228 or A20.

Phil....

Re: 18th Oct. Offham Kent.

I shall be starting my trip at 09:15 from Broad Oak, near Heathfield, Village Hall car park Tim for a steady bimble to Staplehurst for what is a very nice brekkie which starts at 10:00. Haven't had a 'steady bimble' for some time so that's my aim. Then after brekkie I shall get lost trying to find Offham through the Kentish lanes.
This of course is part of the enjoyment -- the challenge of pathfinding, the delight of riding on roads you've never been on before and the surprise of arriving at the destination. All these things add to lifes colourful journey

and encourage me to write bollox (sorry Mike)

If anybody from Hastings would like to join in I could meet up with them at Hurst Green en-route, say about 09:30ish at the A265 junction on the A21.

There isn't a layby there Alan but there is a company called Harper & Eede who sell tractors and Agricultural equipment and who have a pull in to their premises on the Lamberhurst/London side of the junction, could meet there.

If it's tipping with rain then I shall wimp out and stop in bed
