Supplier in Wales / Riders of Cardiff

Hi all

New Sportster owner

Anybody know whats happened to the riders store in Cardiff. I've heard a little rumour that they've had there HD license taken off them as theres another Welsh store opening.

Anybody know what the score is?

Bought my bike from chester HD [do business up there] so would like someone in south wales to sort servicing, mods etc

Thanks

Re: Supplier in Wales / Riders of Cardiff

I have it on good authority that H-D pulled the plug with Riders in Cardiff because they were taking far too long to get their act together. I too have heard that someone else is in the frame but I don't know any more.

There are a couple of good indies in the area; Matt's Engineering in Abercynon, and another one in Chepstow whose name I can't remember.

Will try to get more info tomorrow.

BTW where are you in the Principality?

i'm from Pontypool, although work down near Cardiff. Yourselves?

Had a feeling it was something to do with how long they've taken. silly really as i reckon they'd have done well down there, huge catchment area to pull from

Thanks Dave and John; got a flyer for them at Oz but think I've probably binned it!

Ryan, I'm in Carmarthen. Don't get up to meetings much but they're a good bunch and worth a visit if you fancy it; next one's this Sunday I think.

!2.30 at the Goytre Arms, Penperlleni.

Re: Supplier in Wales / Riders of Cardiff

Thats interesting about riders, when I was there about a month ago the salesman gave me the impression that the store would be opening about christmas time.
As for work on a bike i can recomend Matt's in Abercynon, I've had him do work on my previous harleys and was always happy with the results.

As an aside, good to see a few of you coming on board.

We're a bit thinly spread in Wales; it's been somewhat quiet on this section of the website lately.

Please don't think that the region is totally dormant, though; admittedly most of the "action" is round the Ponty/Abergavenny area, but there's pockets of us scarttered all over South, Mid and West Wales, let's keep in touch a bit more if we can and perhaps next year do a few more things together.

sounds like a fine idea.

I would certainly be up for a couple of ride outs.

I'm also up for some rideouts, either from Cardiff or Swansea areas. The bike has really languished in the garage this summer, and a few good Autumn rides would help my mental equilibrium*.
