What timing you have HH, started work to change my bars yesterday and made an attempt to remove the grip and gave up, decided to get a new one at the weekend. Hopefully wont need to now ;)

Re: Left Hand Grip Tip.

Well it didnt work for me, the wire just turned round in the same place that it was pushed in. :-/

So resorted to the usual, lots of pushing, heaving and grunting plus a few f**ckinells thrown in. >

Got it off with a small diameter screwdriver but now is stretched so much its knackered. :-[

Back to the first idea, over to the dealers tomorrow for a new'n. ???

Re: Left Hand Grip Tip.

Was worth a try.

A wee tip for your new grip, put a small bottle cap full of petrol inside the grip, swirl it around for a few minutes.
This *slightly* melts the rubber, throw it out and slide the grip on quick pronto like.

Leave to set, easier to remove next time you play bar swaps. ;)

No Smokie. ;D

Re: Left Hand Grip Tip.

simple
take a thin screwdriver or similar, raise the leading edge, pour a little lighter fluid into the space and wait.
hey presto the petroleum based rubber adhesive becomes slimey and after a while the grip just slides off ;)

sorry HH i realise you just said similar :-[

Re: Left Hand Grip Tip.

Well what do you know, went to the local dealer today, dont stock standard grips only the nice chromey ones. Nice price too of course.

Dont get me wrong, aint got nothing against chrome bits, would just like the choice.

Re: Left Hand Grip Tip.

I am in a rush, waited three weeks and three sets of bars. First two had to be sent back because they were faulty, got the third pair Thursday, now have to wait to get a grip :'(
