Good link for checking numbers an prices.

Just thought that I'd let everyone know that you can get 10% discount off everything ordered through Robin Hood H-D's website during April. They also have a new P&A price checker that has worked everytime I have tried it so far - even with 04 parts. You can also check several prices at the same time.

Re: 10% discount

I've used this site for a while for price checking - the other route is to use the US official HD site which lists most parts (why not all?) & shows prices in US$.

Generally you can assume a base price of $1 = £1.

You can also set up your very own wish list & store a list of all the things you might be interested in buying ;D

The discount of 10% is what you'd get if you were a Hog member anyway I think - most dealers I know will discount by 10% (sometimes even if you only claim to be a Hog member!) ;)

Re: 10% discount

Talk to the parts man at most stealerships counters and they will give ya 10% anyway,(blagg the hog membership thang they love to hear it ;) ;),get to know your independant man too ;D ;D ,as S.T has rightly commented, and see whos making a monkey, and money out of who.The fat wallets go to the dealers and play right into the "experience " and keep the prices artificially high, cos theres so many willing to do it.To be balanced about the whole thing, H-W Chesterfield have mostly had a reasonable web site, and as Joe 90 has pointed out a decent facility, along with Robin Hood to check UK prices out ,at least you've got the chance to find out how much somethings gonna cost (if it can be only a harley part), before you get to the parts counter and say" You got to be havin a laugh" Good link though, for those that didnt know(beats the crap out of a tenner for the catalog)

Especially from that one Simon!

Went to The Foundry in Canterbury the other day, for a primary gasket for the Evo. Did my HDRCGB membership card entitle me to discount? "No Sir". Did my H-D Mastercard? "No Sir, but I'll give you 10% for your persistance", she said with a smile, still over 15 quid though!

At least they'd got it in stock! ;D

Re: Good link for checking numbers an prices.

Hi,

http://www.harleybuyer.co.uk/ is another online price checker. Worth checking because some items are competetive.

I buy most my stuff off ebay (new & old) and mainly from the States, but I have had some good deals mail order, from Gordy, GLF, Grizzley's to name a few.
It all depends on how much work you want to do to save some money.

Use the classifieds - some good deals to be had here!

Fatrain - if your looking for chrome, I have a good contact in Telford

Re: Good link for checking numbers an prices.

If your lucky enough to live close to an airport you can get a cheap flight and end up saving the price of a flight and spend a few days or a week in the states by buying a bundle of parts for a smidgeon of what ya get ripped off for in the UK and have a bit of a holiday to boot! In fact everything is sooo much cheaper in the states.(cept medical bills!) Go on a shopping frenzy!
Just take the packaging off and hope ya get thru customs. I always have.
