Had the op in the end, quick day surgery the only drawback is that before the op my hand went quite numb at night so I used to put on some nail varnish and have a quick w@nk. felt like someone else doing it.

I started this thread three years ago. jeez talk about the resurectionists. news flash hands get cold because they are extremities. main cause is because the least protected parts of the body when it comes to losing heat are your legs. answer if you suffer cold hands put over trousers on.;) |

All I can add to this topic is fit a Vistacruise. I've been using them for years on various bikes, the Harley specific one is better made than most, fits it in 10 mins. and allows you to relax your grip on long runs. Great piece of kit, but I couldn't find a UK distributor for the Harley model so I imported one from the US. Cost me $55 including shipping (£30). Bloody bargain from www.CruiserCustomizing.com David |

Ian - thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthan........... I did over 1000 miles in a week, including one 9 hour stint in the saddle (apart from fuel stops, natch) and nary a tingle was felt the whole time. At least in my fingers! Elsewhere was a different story. Oh, how the missus laughed at my rolling gait and agonised expression as I came into the house - will pumping the saddle full of silicon do for my backside what it did for my fingers, I wonder? Answers on a postcard, please...... Just be warned, though - if you have relatively long bars you might need a couple of tubes of silicon to do the job. |

There's a product made by 'Scottoiler' called a cramp buster which is a simple cheap plastic gismo thing which you attach to your throttle twist grip. It enables you to just rest your hand against the throttle to operate it on long journeys. It's basically a cheap type of cruise control. When not in use you just swing it out of the way. I can recomend it as i have had problems with carpal tunnel syndrome and arthritus in my hands for a few years now. I've just returned from Spain on me bike and covered 2563 mls door to door in eight days travellin' and it was a life saver for me.;) Wacko
