HomeMade Inner Cam Bearing Installer?

I've traced out Nt.Trains Inner Cam Bearing tools Support plate.

I'm thinking of getting a 1/2" thick steel plate and drilling/tapping etc........If I can find an expanding Collet.

Print it out, check measurements from the ruler and use it as a template?
