Not sure, but I suspect using giant spark plugs isn't a great idea. Sorry about the size of the pic ![]() Resized for you...BaZa. Last edited by BaZaŽ; 16-08-2006 at 11:51 PM. |

Gser, It defo look as if its been running on the lean side of life.......... How many miles has it been in ? My plugs looked very similar when I changed the exhaust to more free flowing duals, it also ran a lot hotter. Most bikes come with fuel settings set up on the lean side for emission purposes anyway.

Thanks for that. It's been in for about 250 miles in all. Looked a bit lean to me too!

As far as I know, it's had a Stage I kit (it certainly runs a K&N filter and non-stock pipes), but I'm pretty sure they're dealer-fitted. No signs of pinking at all, and it runs like a train - when it's not stuttering a bit. The idle is all I've changed, taking it down from 1500 to 1000. Seems to vary a bit when it's hot though - sometimes it'll run at 1000rpm, other times it'll run at 1200-1300rpm...

I know when I bought my bike I was told it was stage 1, the obvious signs of a K&N and SE pipes where there but it ran hot and suffered from decell popping. I eventually bought a SERT and remapped the EFI, problem solved. Up to that point the fuel mapping was not catering for the open flow system and running extra lean. moral of the story is, dont trust dealers !

.... or have a bike with a carb! Suspect an EFi conversion would cost quite a lot! |

| Re: Your starter for 10 - plug health He obviously never saw you pictures you posted of your land ship.... Play with the screws on the carb, whats the worst you can do, just mark the original screw position with tippex.
