| Oil top up Hi all, My Sportster hasnt had it first service yet, only 750m on the clock, but I noticed the oil level is at the minimum mark. Usually I just top up the oil in my Honda CBF is there any difference with the Harley? I noticed the manual says not mix oils. Do i have to drain the old stuff out before replacing? As you have guessed I'm not mechanically minded at all just dont want to damage the engine.I've ordered some Amsoil 20W50 for the job.

| Re: Oil top up Thanks. Yeah the first service should be free. Hopefully they will honour that at Dockgate 20 where it was bought from as this bike was passed onto me and I'm not the original buyer.

| Re: Oil top up Hiya Ferrox, the manual is warning against the mixing of synthetic with straight rock oil (also known as Dinosaur oil or 'Dino' for short). You can happily top up with Harley branded oil or any half decent synthetic you care to mention- just don't overfill!!!!
