| Re: Clarkes CML2 Motorcycle Lift Modification, my mod Oooh that rings a bell. Had exactly the same issue with my lift, lowering my softail with the weight of a kittens paw on the lever and whoosh... she dropped like a stone ![]() Luckily I was hanging onto the bars during the drop process but still gave me a helluva fright... I also decided on a mod but mine was a little different. It invloved wedging a v stiff spring (actually the plunger spring of a Kwak GPZ900R anti-dive unit), under the lowering pedal with a block of wood under the spring to take up the space. Then adding washers under the spring until I got just the right amount of back pressure. Works a treat, you have to deliberately push on the pedal to lower and no matter how hard you push it won't suddenly drop. It's all held together with big cable ties at the mo but as as soon as I get the time I'll knock up a metal bracket of some sort. In the meantime if anyone needs any pics geive me a shout. ![]()
