Hand Guards

I've been trying to find something to keep my fingers from freezing when I ride in winter.

Recently fitted some muffs on the bars - they work well but look hideous.

I just found these on the J&P Cycles site.......

Bloody expensive for what they are @ $90.

Anybody ever tried anything like this??

Seen anything similar in the UK??

Or is it time I stopped p!ssing around with the Dyna and bought something with a full fairing, heated footrests and a high compression armchair??

Re: Hand Guards

Try heated Grips or/and a pair of thermal Liners inside your Gloves.

Re: Hand Guards

Better still heated gloves. Mine are brilliant on long journeys. Better and cheaper than heted grips. Whole hand is warm.

If it's just for winter riding and looks are not of paramount importance, pick up a pair off a Tiger or something similar from a crosser.
They work really well and you can make most things fit most places with a bit of ingenuiety (and a nice can of paint)...

Re: Hand Guards

I've been looking at these National Cycle hand deflectors. They used to come in smoke, as well as clear. They fit onto the bottom of the mirror mounts, so they will be easy to remove in summer (if it will ever come back).

My winter bike another V-twin (Honda CX500Z), I fitted with heated grips, but still got cold hands, so I fitted a set of cheap after market hand guards and it made a big difference! So much so I could swap my winter gloves back to my summer gloves.
