Fitting: Gel Pad for extra comfort no numb bum!

Reference this thread: Gel Pads for extra comfort no numb bum!

The pad has arrived and I have just fitted it.

You will want to install the gel pad in the area of your seat where it will be most effective. It is not necessary to cover the entire surface of your seat. Sit on your seat and try to determine where the pressure points are between you and your seat. (Each hip bone and your tail bone) These are the target areas. Measure the area and choose a gel pad large enough to cover all the target areas.

I used a carpenters hand bradle and pliers to remove the staples
making sure you have all the bits that may break

I could not believe my luck when the cover was rolled back a top layer of foam peeled back perfectly to take the gel pad!

Using the correct staples and gun it was a simple task of refitting.
I have put tape over all the staples just to tidy up the job

If it can't be fixed by Gaffer tape or WD40 then it's a female issue :-)

Yes it did do the trick, but I was also in the market for a USA air cushioned Police seat that came up a few months later so now I have a different seat altogether.

As an update for those who follow this thread later, you can get slip on gel pads for rider and passenger-I got mine from eGlideGoodies w/Santa .
I've run 10-18 hour days no with no monkey bum probs.
Coupla points tho: good that you can move em from bike to bike (I've used em all on the three hogs I've owned to date).
I have the sheepskin cover- relax, its black in colour and short like velour stuff!!, this is ace in hot weather (I live in France)-no hot saddle.
Got to watch they don't get wet when bike is parked tho, but I have an HD rain cover and If I forget to cover em, a brisk rub with a microfibre cloth usually sorts em out.
