Rob, How old is your bike and it's clutch cable? After 21 years of sterling service I treated myself to a Diamondback super-duper cable, which really is jolly good! So much better that I have removed the Clutchlite thingey I was using with my heavy duty clutch spring. If your bike is getting on, invest in a new slippery cable that doesn't need lubrication - at least for the foreseeable future. |

WD-40 is not a good motorcycle cable lubricator. Find out first what type of cable you have. Bare cable or teflon lined. Teflon lined should only need to be kept clean and bare wire cable should be oiled with a dedicated cable lube.

I am the cheapskate. Hang overnight with the appropriate lube starting off in a funnel made of electrical tape / card.....

| WD40 is not even a lubricant! It is primarily a water dispellant.

| Re: Clutch cable lubricator Quote:
I have an S&S motor and Barnett heavy duty clutch spring. Evo clutches are heavier to pull than TCs, hence I fitted a Clutchlite, to reduce hand cramps (not much fun in traffic!). Been to Hungary and back with no problems and very pleased with the Diamondback. |
