Exactly the same happened to mine, I took it to a local company here in Potters Bar who works with stainless steel, I got them to weld the crack then to plate the area, there is a plate welded to the underneath but cannot be seen from the photo, which has strengthened it somewhat, this is a much better option than a replacement part as it should last without further problems, the completed job cost me just 30 quid!!

To date I have covered about 6000 miles from when it was repaired as you can see without any problem,

If anyone want's the same job search out a local shop who will do the same type of repair or you can send me the pipe and I'll get it sorted for you.

Nothing can be seen when the chrome covers have been replaced.

And the saga continues!!!

I replaced the cracked pipe with a new part, and then noticed that the bracket which holds the saddlebag to the rear mudguard had also broken. This was removed to be welded up. Upon removing the bracket, the right-hand exhaust pulled away from the bracket. I thought this was something to do with gravity, so chocked the bike up level and started to investigate further.

Bungee's were used so as not to put too much stress on the "expensive" replacement exhaust pipes!! I then removed the bolts that hold the saddlebag bracket to the mudguard, and watched as they parted company by about 20mm!!! I did the same with the right-hand side of the bike, and that moved about 2mm, pretty acceptable in my opinion.

The conclusion I came to is that the saddlebag bracket must be causing the problem, so I undid the fron of said bracket, and tightened up the rear fastener, and watched as the front part of the bracket came about 20mm away from the tab on the frame.

The next part is to set to with the bracket and straighten it out!!
