Surrey Chapter

Anyone here also a member of this lot? I believe they are independent from the HOG.
I'm wondering if they might provide me with a few more local rides out in the Guildford area?
I'm not into really long runs or Camping meets.

Re: Surrey Chapter

Lot of animosity at one time with Surrey HOG and Surrey Chapter ( breakaway group)
When Guildford dealership opened Surrey HOG was rebranded with the name HOGSBACK Chapter.Think things are a bit better between the two groups now.

We met a few of the original Surrey Hog guys whilst on a biking holiday in Corsica and have been to a couple of other social things with them. Good bunch of people.

Re: Surrey Chapter

I'll tell the full story at some point, but the split eventually led to the closure of the old Surrey HD through loss of trade. I stuck with the breakaway group because most of our friends were involved. Don't have much to do with them these days but still in contact. I gather that the originals( the breakaway group) have now got themselves involved in some internal rows with some longstanding members going their own way. There were some criticisms last year that they were becoming more of a social club than a Motorcycle club. A lot of their trips were based in fairley expensive hotels and even expensive restaurants (think Rick Stein and Padstow) I'm trying to get in touch with a couple of old friends at the moment and as their Webmaster (an ex- Director) has now pulled out, their website is not up and running.

Re: Surrey Chapter

I'm a bit bemused by the fact that one has tried to put me off and told me of all the local runs going on?

It is the time of life mate, got to do it while you still can.

We like to spend some time with our grandchildren, although one of them is nearly tall enough to go on the back of the Glide. It wont be long before she wants to join us, Barbara will have to lend her her Buell then!!

We will be there on Friday to help set up.
