Re: Riding in the USA

Steve, i loved monument valley and in biking terms it is one of the highlights imo. If you get to go north on the coast road toward S.F it is worth checking out Hirst Castle near St Simeon for a tourist thingy A month is great. Americans are great also.

Just treat them as square roundabouts if that makes sense!

Not really Sue, sorry but.....

Roundabouts you give way to your right here and there [on the very few they have] you give way to the left obviously , but at Square 4 & 2 way STOP junction the first person [car. bike] that gets to the junction and stops is the first person to make their move be it straight on or turn either way.

It does actually work well.

After a full-stop has been made, vehicles usually have the right-of-way to proceed through the intersection in the order that they arrived at the intersection.

We are doing the whole mother road, taking a month to do it and having detours to monument valley and Vegas along the way. We are spending the last five days in Santa Monica to recover before we come home. The main reason for what we see as the trip of a lifetime is that Sharon and I have been together for twenty five years this year, have two children and two grand children but we never got married so we are heading for Vegas to put this right and celebrate.
I've heard that craft brewing is big at the moment over there so hopefully we can get a decent pint from time to time.
Once again thanks and keep them coming.
