Helmet laws in France

ive just bought a new helmet ie SHARK evoline,
in its paperwork there is four reflective stickers, it states that

in order to use your crash helmet anywhere on French territory, you must comply with legislative require ments.accordingly, you must stick the enclosed
reflectors on your helmet. Each reflector must be affixed inside the areas shown (front both sides and back )

Re: Helmet laws in France

I think you will find as a tourist you will not be compelled to comply unless it is compulsory in all EU member states, the same as a lot of the country specific regulations.
Shark are/were a French company.

Re: Helmet laws in France

Hi John
Ridden all over France, over the years and never been pulled. No reflectors on my helmet. BUT! put the stickers with your paperwork and if you get stopped you can pop them on and I'm sure Le law will be happy.

Re: Helmet laws in France

I remember the old days in France when the law said you had to wear a helmet. Didn't specify where which is why so many used to ride with it strapped to their elbow. They did amend the law and probably promptly had their motorway network blocked by Mobylettes!
