Cool Dresser Tank Bag

The expressions 'dresser' and 'tank bag' do not normally inhabit the same sentence and, having toured in the USA, don't seem to come together in Harley's home country.

Despite that my wife and I are planning a European tour and it seems to me a small tank bag will be a useful addition to our saddlebags and tourpak, for odds and ends, rather than bulky things.

Does anyone have experience of using one and if so which one?

Re: Dresser Tank Bag

used one on my glide no problems

either pick one up cheap at the BMF shows or wait until Aldi / Lidl knock out their tank bags at around £17.95

Re: Dresser Tank Bag

We use a tank bag on our Ultra. It's the size of a bum bag, is magnetic, and doubles as a bum bag. They make various styles and sizes for use on Harleys.

I would have posted the manufacturers name but after giving information like this before only to find out that my help has turned into someone elses profit I don't do it anymore. If you want to find out more pm me or try searching a certain members own website.

Rapid response from you all, many thanks.

Having posted this, it occured to me to Google 'harley tank bag' - this thread came up first!

Lots here Tank Bag for Harley-Davidsons
I have the MTM1 and I think it's a good piece of kit. Not huge but big enough for camera etc.

Re: Dresser Tank Bag

Sorted!

I am pleased to report that I have finally selected and bought a small tank bag for my Glide, photo when weather permits. What I was trying to achieve was a portable 'handbag' rather than extra luggage space. I also didn't want to spend much, as I have enough storage space for normal use, but we are going on an extended tour shortly, hence wanted that little bit extra.

What I chose is an Oxford 'Tank n Tail' bag, designed for use at either end of a bike. It is just short enough to fit without fouling the fuel tank door. It is magnetic, although doesn't contact the steel of the tank! It also has a pair of velcro seat straps, which when joined together serve to secure it to the tank. It will also serve as a day bag on one of my other bikes.

It cost just £25 new on Ebay, including post from an established trader, and I paid another tenner to get an Oxford 'soft' blanket to go under it. It has a tether to go round the steering head (far too short!) and a detachable shoulder strap, as well as a rain cover. It is claimed to be 4 litres in capacity.

So thanks for all your suggestions!

Have you tried it on an Ultra?

Not an Ultra but I think it should fit. I've used it on my old Road King and my new Electra Glide standard. It has a tunnel in the bottom to go over the console so it fits snugly. Here's a picture, the best one I have, so that you can see how it fits. Good piece of kit I think.

Re: Dresser Tank Bag

Just ordered one of those myself - now got to wait the age for it to be delivered from the states. I just want it to put a map in so I can read it with having to get off the bike all the time. I also wanted someting to pack the minimum over night things I'll need when on the ferry!
