high visibility vests

I know it not a popular thing to wear a bit naff, and not cool?
Well harley have bought out there version wich i have invested in i don,t normally buy
HD clothing as are over priced but in this instant i have.
The vest is fluorescent orange a tough material with a good zip it has the HD logo on the back and a small one on the front it has elastic ex panders on each side so it fits tight not a bad product, and i think worth wearing and it doesn't look TOO naff???

Re: high visibility vests

i think youve mist the point,
this is a well made item out of a very good tough material and it fits , a little different from the usual high vis vest wich is very thin and not really made for biking!!
i am not trying to promote HD products but the safety aspect of this item, as most riders will not wear the normal high vis vest.
i wear the normal cheap vest when i am a observer with RoSPA it flaps when riding and opens up at speed not really practical as a long distance coat to wear,
this is why i have put it on here , there is an alternative alright it not cheap but it might save your life, and its made to last.

I already have reflective strips on my jackets, and this is posted in touring. I have bought these to carry all over Europe as a legal requirement. I do not want to wear a dayglo all the time, crash helmets were voluntary once.

Re: high visibility vests

Hey guys,
High Vis gear does not work, the muppets still don't look, I saw a police motorcyclist, parked at the side of the road talking to some pedestrians, wearing full high vis suit, on huge white bike with lots of reflective panels, and still the old woman drove straight into the back of the bike.

But if you really want one try this
BARATEC|8000503|HI-VIS REVERSIBLE BODYWARMER, | CPC
Cheers
Mick

Re: high visibility vests

i agree that theres a few out there that will never see you. BUT if you are unlucky
enough to have a accident and you are wearing a hi-vis its hard for some one to say they never seen you!!!
i know its not cool too wear but i have started too regularly like my helmet and glove
now i feel i should have the thing on!
doing up to 20,000mls a year statistic's say that the odds are a against me, so anything that might help get the odds down i am up for within reason ??
