LAKE GARDA From ENGLAND

Hi to all, Myself and a few friends are looking seriously at travelling to lake
garda next June, we have researched routes, costs and time but we are told that there are much better routes than those found on route planner web sites.
This is the first time we will have left england on the bikes.
We would be very grateful if anyone could advise on the best routes and the best biker friendly places to stay on route and once we get to Lake Garda

Thakns for you time

Why not pop into here and say hello and tell us a bit about yourself, bike, area etc.

If you look above your thread there is this:
Biker Friendly Stop Overs in the UK and around Europe

All recommended just depends what ones you use as to what route you finally decide on.

If you tell us where you are based that would make a bit of difference to where you would cross the channel, Hull, Norwich, Dover......then the best routes from the port.

Also if you type (Lake Garda) into our search engine you will find a few threads mentioning there.

HERE is one and another one of them.

Try some Moto Guzzi sites as well mate, they have trips out that way very often, the bikes being of Italian origin so Guzzi folks like to make that a destination.

Whichever way you have planned in gettin there make sure you go via the Stelvio Pass...

And if it was me I would go to Lago di Como (Lake Como) instead of Garda,
aim for Bellagio, molto bene.

It all sounds great but its the stop overs on the way there and back which are proving difficult to plan, we dont intend on riding more that 300 miles per day, I maxed out by then.

These are always good

Logis : Leisure escapades and Logis for hiking or other sport activities

We travelled across France and into Italy, crossing the Apls from Bourg Saint Maurice into the Aoste Valley. If you go through Switzerland check out the road tax, I have heard they are scapping it for tourists.

And a link to our route there.

Re: LAKE GARDA From ENGLAND

I am planning to go to Pescara (where my Son and Family now live) and looking at the maps I will pass very close to lake Garda.

I will be travelling on my own not sure when, but I would appreciate any help in organising my stop overs.

If you and cmc5978 tell us here where you are going to cross the channel it would help a lot with the route!
