Anyone done this?

I was thinking of changing the exhausts on my bike, a 2006 Dyna Street Bob.

Currently it has V&H Straight Shot slip ons with a stage one kit, the Harley ECU upgrade and the K&N "style" air filter.

I was thinking of changing to a pair of V&H Big Radius pipes, and was wondering, will they run as well as with the Straight Shots (the bike runs perfectly at the moment) or would it need a further upgrade, be it Harley or possibly a V&H Fuel Pack.

Any ideas? I suspect it will run fine, but I'd like as much info as I can get before beginning

What's the reason for you wanting to change? It won't run any worse than with the Short Shots, probably better at higher RPM even with the stock cams. if you're thinking of an adjustable fueller then there are better choices out there than the V & H Fuelpak.

Re: Anyone done this?

You can check on the V&H website for any difference in the Fuelpak settings between the Big Radius and Straight Shots. That should give you an indication on whether you will need any changes or need a fueller or not.

My advice, not always popular in some quarters, is this:- if you have no intention of performing any further performance upgrades then a V&H Fuelpak to go with a V&H exhaust system makes perfect sense. After all, they sell more exhaust systems for Harleys than any other company, and have a fair idea of what works with them.

If, on the other hand, you intend to follow the upgrade route it and the Big Radius pipes would not be my first choice either.

Aha .. You're right .. I've never tested any Straight Shots on stock headers but I suspect that they'll be slightly better flowing than the Short Shots.
