Jingling noise front primary area

I have a 2007 TC96 Nightrain.
I have just noticed a jingling noise which 'I think' is coming from the left hand side possibly front, possibly the primary area. My exhaust are f**king loud so hard to pin point. The sound doesn't alter when I pull the clutch in.
I took the primary case off expecting something to be loose but everything looked A-ok and tight. No swarf in primary case.

Any ideas what this could be?

Did you check the torque setting on the compensator nut?

Cheap and easy things first (and only as you're not sure where it's coming from) try sticking your hand on the fuel filler cap. They jingle when the ratchet gets a bit worn.

Question Re: Jingling noise front primary area

Didn't torque the compensator nut, but it was tight when I put the spanner to it.
Fuel caps are flush ones, nothing loose.

I've looked round for loose items, can't see ought, I even took the tools out of my toolroll as I thought it might be a loose socket or something, but no difference.

I thought inner primary but it's not a grinding / grumbling noise, more higher pitched jingling.

Any other ideas?

Re: Jingling noise front primary area

Does it do it when stationary, or only when you're moving.

If stationary only, it's nothing in final drive.

Do you have the stock pipes to put back on for a better listening experience?

Re: Jingling noise front primary area

Im doing this job right now."and it not the first time the tabs come loose, although in my case the pulley was round the wrong way(long story). However the loose tab washer does jingle, and in hindsight i wish id found out sooner as I now have to replace a stripped final drive sprocket due to no splines left on a loose sprocket. You will have to remove outer and inner primary covers to see the sprocket and tab washer At this point you might want to check the belt condition/mileage as now would be the time to replace it.Incedentally mines a 2007 96TC.
Get back to me if you want me to elaborate on the story!
